Riding the Jet

On Saturday March 1, the DC Fays went to the Commerford Zoo, held at the DC Stadium Armory. Rides, animals and lots of “state fair” like things to do. Emily cried hysterically when we tried to do something else because she wanted to keep riding the jet the entire time.

I Miss 24

I miss 24. I do not want to have to wait another year to watch Jack Bauer save the world yet again. In the meantime, I guess I’ll have to bide my time by downloading the CTU ringtone for my not-yet-purchased iPhone while watching this funny viral spoof video of the ‘24′ 1994 pilot:

Record High Today

DC Forecast for Feb 06, 2008

How crazy is it that I didn’t wear a jacket to work today? Can you believe how warm it is supposed to get in the DC area? Al Roker of NBC’s Today show suggests it will be 80 degrees in DC today!

Prayers For a Childhood Hero

Don Mattingly

Those of you who know me know that I am a big fan of Don Mattingly (I even named the family dog after him!). “Donnie Baseball” is one of the most beloved players in New Yankees history. He was one of my heroes for a variety of reasons. First, he was a hard worker who never complained. You wouldn’t see him in the media maligning anyone. He also exemplified a great male role model - great character. He had a faith that he didn’t beat you over the head with but wasn’t ashamed of either.

I’ve known that he and his wife have had marital problems and were likely heading towards a divorce. This latest news saddens me all the more. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, Don.

Giants Win!

The Catch

Manning provided the snapshot for the game, pulling away from at least four Patriots and a near-certain sack on third down, and lofting the ball to David Tyree. Tyree made a leaping 32-yard reception, clutching the ball against his helmet as he fell, that put the Giants at the Patriots’ 24-yard line with 59 seconds left in the game. Coughlin said it might have been among the greatest plays in Super Bowl history.

I LOVE You

I’m finally getting around to posting some video we’ve taken. I still struggle with keeping movies open to the public or private for only family and friend viewing. But considering family often have a difficult time viewing, please go over to YouTube to subscribe to the videos (need an account) and make sure I have you on my list of friends or family so you can see videos we’ve marked as private.

Enjoy this! Emily made us watch this one literally 30 times yesterday! She laughed every time her sister said, “I love you.”

Rudolph Meets the Godfather

This is not family friendly, but I remember watching this on MAD TV years ago. If you’ve ever watched The Godfather, you’ll enjoy this. You can order this and other spoofs at Space Bass Films. Happy Holidays!

A Child’s Imagination

Th girls are about 26 months old now, and it’s so much fun watching them play. I can only imagine what’s going on in their heads as they play pretend. I often see them playing with a “little people” house, using any of the animals and little people to create their own little home drama.

Which brings me to a wonderful Lego advertisement I came across that reminds me what it must be like to see play through my girls’ eyes. The next time we play blocks or Legos, this is what I will see:

The Only Porsche I’ll Own

Many of you know that my favorite car is a Porsche 911. Back in the day, I used to own a Volkswagen Corrado, considered the “poor man’s Porsche” because it was the sportiest car Volkswagen ever offered and it included a spoiler that raised and lowered depending on how fast you were driving.

Well, for those of you in the Christmas spirit, I offer the following gift idea. It’s likely the only Porsche I’ll even own.
